Racing fee option for all racers: Skylands members who race as Skylands Cycling can purchase a SEASON PASS (all 16 races) for $200. Non-members (or Skylands members racing for another team) can buy a SEASON PASS for $250. The DEADLINE for this offer is the end of March. Please keep in mind that if a race is canceled due to weather related issues (safety come first) there are no refunds. If you are unable to finish the season due to personal issues (health etc) there are no refunds.
NO REFUNDS. If you are interested in a SEASON PASS sign up on bikereg email me at [email protected] or sign up on race day.

Please remember to check the website by 3pm if the weather is in question. I will be canceling the race if I fear for the safety of the racers. (Or call me at 973-214-1436)

Volunteering has always been a difficult aspect of the series. We have been lucky enough to have a core group of volunteers and for that I am very thankful. Last year we implemented a club volunteering program but this year we are opening it up to any club. If you volunteer to marshal or bring a volunteer to marshal (friend or family member) for the night, you will earn a complimentary registration fee for your NEXT race. If you volunteer for half the night (ie. master race) then you earn a 1/2 credit. So after volunteering for 2 Master races you earn a comp. registration fee for your NEXT race. This is based on a first come, first serve basis. (insert name) will be managing this program and he must be contacted BEFORE race day for scheduling. Children and pets are not additional help and volunteers can not be responsible for the safety of our racers while watching others.

The Augusta Point Series: How it works: If 5 people finish the race, then the first place winner will receive 5pts and the last place racer will receive 1pt. On the other side of things if there are 30 finishers, first place will receive 20pts (maximum number of points received) and the last 10 will not receive any points. This series is meant to be fun and competitive for training so lets keep it that way.

If you place in the top 3 of the B race (as a cat4) you will once again qualify to move up to the A race if you wish. But if you win 3 B races you will be REQUIRED to move to the A race at the discretion of the promoter. If you win 3 races that only had 6 people racing than obviously you will not be required to move up. This will remove any possibility of "sandbagging" and offer more of a challenge to all.
The Points system will apply to the Masters (as a whole and also broken into Age Groups), the A and B Race and the Junior Race. If we have women in the A Race and/or B Race, they will receive points as a subcategory group. If we have women race during the Masters/Women race they will also be given points. At no time will these points cross over into other races as they have in the past.

Once again the A race will receive fabulous monetary compensation for winning (1st-3rd and some times deeper based on attendance) while the B racers will receive merchandise during the season thanks to our Series Sponsor DAVE STERN TIRES. The winners of the Points Series for the A race will receive trophies and the B's will receive cash and trophies.

This year we will be strongly enforcing the "no mixing of the fields rule". If you are found racing in the wrong field after one field (A field or B field) passes the other you will be DISQUALIFIED. This is for everyone's safety. One field will have 2 digit bib numbers and the other field will have 3 digits bib numbers. There is no reason for confusion. Once again we will ask that the racers be responsible for informing the group about to be passed that they are approaching. The passing field will stay to the left and the other field will push over to the right. NO MIXING!! Again this is for everyone's safety. As the Days get longer we will then be able to split the evening into 2 separately run races, with the B Race beginning at 6:15 and the A Race following at 7:15ish.

We will have a 200M mark on the side of the road. If you would like to request addition meter marking, please let us know. We will attempt to honor your request.

All racers must park in the PARKING LOT. There will be no parking on the field. Volunteers are the ONLY cars allowed to park near registration for obvious reasons.

Helmets are to be worn at ALL times when on a bike!! Please don't mosey down to registration on your bike without a helmet because you will have to go home instead.

There are many families who come to watch the races so please watch your language. I know it gets heated sometimes, but be creative with your words instead. I will DQ you for this as I feel very strongly about setting an example for our young ones.

And last but not least, the Fairgrounds have some of the nicest restrooms around...USE THEM! Yes, you are in Sussex County surrounded by nature but it is not there for you to "use". Bruce will DQ you if he catches you.
